Diamond production includes several stages:
1. Mining industry. Diamonds are usually mined from diamond mines or alluvial deposits. The extraction process involves drilling, blasting and transporting raw materials to processing plants.
2. Sorting: The mined diamond ore is sorted according to size, shape, color and quality. This is done to separate gem quality diamonds from industrial quality stones.
3. Cutting and polishing. Gem-quality diamonds are cut and polished to enhance their brilliance and sparkle. This process is usually performed by experienced cutters using specialized tools and equipment.
4. Grading: Once cut and polished, diamonds are graded on the four Cs: carat weight, clarity, color and cut. This grading system helps determine the value of a diamond.
Diamond engraving is a process that involves using lasers or special tools to create intricate designs, patterns, or text on the surface of a diamond. This can be done before or after cutting and polishing the diamond. Engraving can add personality to a diamond and make it unique and special. It takes precision and experience to ensure that engraving is done accurately without damaging the diamond.
